Le jeudi 10 novembre 2016, dans son discours d’ouverture de la troisième session ordinaire de l’année législative 2016 au Cameroun, le très honorable Cavayé Yeguié Djibril a assimilé les réseaux sociaux à une nouvelle forme de terrorisme: «Considérés à l’origine comme outils de communication, ils sont devenus une arme vouée à la désinformation, à l’intoxication et à la manipulation des consciences».
Invité à commenter cette déclaration de Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, dimanche 13 novembre 2016 sur le plateau de « Droit de réponse », une émission dominicale de débats sur Equinoxe Télévision, Maître Emmanuel Pensy, avocat et militant au RDPC (parti-État au pouvoir depuis 34 ans), a déclaré que le très honorable Cavayé Yeguie avait “un déficit académique qui ne lui permet pas de s’attaquer aux réseaux sociaux.”
En ce sens, même si le président Cavaye Yeguie fait effectivement preuve d’une certaine déficience académique, le plus préoccupant dans son anti-intellectualisme primaire réside surtout dans l’inquiétante et ô combien dangereuse confirmation que le Président de l’assemblée nationale du Cameroun est incapable de comprendre que la liberté d’expression et la recherche permanente du consensus sont la pierre angulaire de la démocratie. Car, comme nous l’avions déjà noté dans notre article “CAMEROUN: La figure de l’opposant, Généalogie d’une Déchéance des Droits Civiques” le régime de Yaoundé est structurellement allergique à tous ceux qui ne chantent pas les louanges du chef de l’État. Dans son ADN même prévaut l’idée que LA CRITIQUE ne peut jamais être constructive. Donc il n’y a pas une seule critique qui puisse être tolérée, précisément parce que les maîtres de l’univers de Yaoundé n’en veulent ou tolèrent aucune. Cette intolérance historique se traduit notamment dans l’impossibilité de construire une puissante et effective sphère publique ou collective au Cameroun. En effet le régime en place doit et veut continuer à empoisonner les médias avec sa propagande, puis jeter littéralement l’enfant avec l’eau empoisonnée du bain. Ainsi jamais aucune personne ne voudra ou ne pourra se désaltérer à la fontaine du savoir, surtout auprès des médias pollués par l’obscurantisme politique.
Dès lors, aucune possibilité de représentation démocratique n’est envisageable, pas plus de débat d’idées, mais encore et toujours uniquement du simulacre.
Les travaux de Jean Baudrillard nous ont appris que le simulacre c’est précisément la mort du réel puis la célébration perpétuelle du pouvoir du faux ou “FAY” comme on dit au Cameroun; accompagné de l’évacuation voire le bannissement de la sphère publique ou collective (ici les réseaux sociaux) de tout débat politique constructif. Le paradoxe au Cameroun c’est que les vrais “Feymen” (appellation locale désignant les escrocs de grand chemin secrétés par la dictature en place) sont au pouvoir et tous ceux qui critiquent le régime sont considérés comme des “opposants”, certains d’entre eux embastillés. Le simulacre est de la sorte un monde à l’envers où les gens qui violent les lois, emprisonnent, donnent des leçons de morale à ceux-là mêmes qui les respectent.
Quel pays!!!

English version: Social networks, Terrorism, and the power of “Fay” in Cameroon

Thursday, November 10, 2016, in his opening speech of the ordinary session of the legislative year 2016, the honorable Djibril Cavaye Yeguie had likened social networks to a new form of terrorism. « Considered as communication tools, they have become a weapon dedicated to misinformation, intoxication and manipulation of consciences».
Invited to comment on this statement by Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, yesterday Sunday 13 November 2016 on the set of « Right of reply », on Equinoxe Television, Mr. Emmanuel Pensy, lawyer and activist in the CPDM, Cavaye’s own political party, said that the honorable Cavaye had « academic deficit that does not allow him to tackle the problematic of social networks. »
On this knowledge, even if president Cavaye Yeguie presents a pronounced academic deficit, the anti-intellectual stance comes packaged with the most dangerous realization that the president of the National Assembly does not understand that freedom of expression and the search for consensus are cornerstone of democracy. « As we have already noted in our article « CAMEROON: the figure of the opponent, genealogy of a deprivation of civil rights, » the Yaoundé regime has a structural critical allergy against all who do not sing the praises of the head of State.
In the DNA of the Yaoundé regime, critics can never be constructive, so any criticism should not be tolerated because the masters of the universe in Yaoundé do not need any. This historic intolerance translates as the impossibility of building a strong and effective public sphere in Cameroon. The regime perpetually poisons the media and throwing out the baby with the poisoned bath water. Hence, no one can drink at the fountain of wisdom, which is also created in the media sphere.
Therefore, no possibility of representation, debate of ideas, but simulacra.
The work of Jean Baudrillard taught us that the simulacra are the death of the real and perpetual celebrating of the power of the false or « FAY” and the evacuation of the public sphere of any political constructive debate. In Cameroon, the paradox is that the true « Feymen » are in power and all those who criticize the regime are labelled « opponents » and many of them are in prison. In the simulacra, everything is backwards and people who break laws trap and give moral lessons to those who respect them.
