Eldridge Cleaver du Black Panther Party a rendu célèbre le slogan politique «Vous faites partie du problème où vous faites partie de la solution». Par conséquent, nous avons toujours le monde que nous méritons. Dans l’univers mental déformé et dégradé de la politique Camerounaise, il y a une campagne hystérique et concertée menée par un grand nombre d’oiseaux de mauvaise augure et de mouches contre le CL2P avec des affirmations infondées et calomnieuses telles que «petit groupe» de «charlatans», «vendus» ou «idiots utiles» manipulés par une cabale de politiciens corrompus et affamés de pouvoir.
La réalité est que le CL2P est une organisation de droit humain dotée d’une authenticité impeccable. Le CL2P favorise les libertés civiles en Afrique francophone, l’une des régions les plus politiquement arriérées de la planète et du continent.
Le CL2P est influencé en cela par les travaux de Frantz Fanon, qui démontrent que l’oppression prolongé dégrade tant l’oppresseur que l’opprimé. Le CL2P est une organisation de la liberté civile animée par Joël Didier Engo qui a subi dans sa chair les ravages du Despotisme juridique de Biya, l’a survécu pour témoigner et s’assurer que ce type de régime ne prospère plus en Afrique. La lutte pour le droit humain et la liberté civile est quelque chose qu’il vit encore aujourd’hui y compris comme «exilé politique» en France.
Engo a dû arrêter une carrière prometteuse qui l’a conduit en France, aux États-Unis et en Australie pour lutter contre un régime oppressif en état de pourriture totale et qui entraîne de nombreuses familles camerounaises dans la ruine. L’homme a l’âme d’un militant progressiste et, contrairement à beaucoup de camerounais ordinaires captifs du régime de Biya et qui subissent un syndrome traumatique de Stockholm sans fin, l’homme a l’esprit et l’intégrité d’un Emiliano Zapata qui comprend que « mieux vaux mourir debout que de vivre à genoux»
Par conséquent, nous devons admettre que beaucoup d’entre nous ont internalisé l’oppression et restent silencieux en marge. Nous attaquons le CL2P parce que nous n’avons pas l’intégrité nécessaire de rester debout. Ceux qui attaquent le CL2P sont des vampires psychiques qui tentent de discréditer l’expérience et le travail communautaire de combattants engagés de la Liberté. Comme avec Alexandre Dumas, un écrivain noir de renommé mondial qui a souffert du racisme dans la France réactionnaire et qui a écrit au sujet de son héros le comte de Montecristo qu’il n’y a rien de pire que d’essayer de voler une colère et une quête de justice saine.
Pour celles et ceux que le CL2P rend mal à l’aise; C’est exactement sa mission.
Le CL2P ne cessera jamais d’organiser, ne cessera jamais de lutter pour la liberté, ne cessera jamais d’être politique. Comme avec le révérend Dr. Martin Luther King, le CL2P comprend que l’arc de l’univers moral est long mais se penche vers la justice. Par conséquent, le CL2P s’engage dans une tradition prophétique des droits de l’Homme et de la justice sociale que rien n’arrêtera.

Cameroon: The CL2P, the Question of Political Prisoners and Human right activism in Francophone Africa

Eldridge Cleaver of the Black Panther Party made famous the political slogan “You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.” Hence, we have the world we deserve. In the decrepit mental universe of Cameroonian politics, there is a concerted hysterical campaign ran by a great number of auspicious birds and flies trying to paint the CL2P is a “small group” of “charlatans,” “sellout” or “useful idiots” manipulated by a cabal of corrupt and power-hungry politicians.
The reality is that the CL2P is a human right organization with impeccable credentials. The CL2P promotes civil liberties in Francophone Africa, one of the most politically backward region on the planet.
The CL2P understand, as with work of Frantz Fanon, that oppression degrades both the oppressor and the oppressed. The CL2P is a hands on civil liberty organization animated by Joel Didier Engo who suffered in his body the ravages of Biya’s legal Despotism and lived to tell the story and make sure this kind of regime no longer prosper in Africa. The fight for human right and civil liberty is something that he lived in even now as a political exile in France.
Engo has to stop a promising career that led him to France, the USA and Australia to fight an oppressive regime that degrades not only itself but numerous Cameroonian lives. The man has the soul of an activist and unlike many ordinary Cameroonians captive of the Biya’s regime and who are undergoing a traumatic Stockholm syndrome, the man has the soul and the integrity of an Emiliano Zapata who understand that “better that we should die on our feet rather than live on our knees”
Hence, we have to admit that many of us have internalized oppression and remain silent on the sidelines. We attack the CL2P because we do not have the gut to stand on our feet. Those who attacked the CL2P are psychic vampires who are trying to invalidate the experience and the community work of committed freedom fighters. As with Alexandre Dumas, a renowned black writer who suffered from racism in reactionary France wrote in the Count of Montecristo that there is nothing worse than try to steal a man righteous anger and quest for justice.
For those the CL2P is making uncomfortable; that is exactly its mission. The CL2P is never going to stop organizing, never going to stop fighting for freedom, never going to stop being political. As with, reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, the CL2P understand that the arc of the moral universe is long but bend toward justice. Hence, the CL2P is engage in a prophetic tradition of human rights and social justice that nothing is going to stop.
