#JusticeforMartinezZogo Cameroon: a country unfortunately in a very advanced state of somalization
There is no worse crime than that of taking an entire people hostage for 04 decades, thus practically nipping in the bud the future of millions of human beings, and especially any possibility of alternative or democratic transition.
This is what the villainous and bloodthirsty regime of Paul Biya (90) has methodically been able to achieve in Cameroon for 40 years, with various complicities, including that of the French officials.
Because it is essentially the networks of Françafrique that have enabled it to perpetuate in this way an essentially clientelist and nepotic political system, which uses the concept of cultural rallying « Ekang » to instrumentalize state tribalism.
The television of Thousand Hills (VISION) 4 of the main sponsor suspected in the assassination of journalist Martinez Zogo will have been an essential vector of ethnic hatred between Cameroonians and police terror, guaranteeing its promoter Jean-Pierre Amougou Belinga and his allies in the government total impunity.
However, human rights activists, like our organization, recognize that by making Martinez Zogo a Christ-like figure, the Biya regime opened the gates of hell that swept away its mystique of « Nnon Ngui » and « Zomloa des Zomloas » in the dustbins of history.
Martinez Zogo, more than politics, becomes emblematic of the inviolable and sacred nature of human life, which must in no case be subjected to excessive forms of deprivation. The suffocation of Martinez Zogo’s life demonstrates that no political regime has the right to subject a free citizen to torture and death for exercising their freedom of expression.
With his death, therefore, Zogo comes to embody a democratic mystique rooted in the inviolability of human life, the sacredness and dignity of human life, and the right of necessity that must structure human relations among themselves and with the State. This mystique cannot be stopped by any regime. That’s why Dr. Martin Luther King said that the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.
